In short: if you want to join a large shared network of Belgian cardholders and merchants, Joyn is built for that. If you want your own branded card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, no app for customers, a monthly plan you can leave at any time and push notifications on €59, Fidelia is the closer fit.

Where is Fidelia stronger?
- No app and no card to hand out. Customers scan the QR code and the card sits in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. Joyn’s FAQ describes the Joyn app or a Joyn card.
- No yearly commitment. Joyn’s terms run one year and renew automatically unless you cancel 30 days before the end through a form. Fidelia runs month to month, and a plan keeps working until the end of the period you paid for.
- Push and location reminders in one plan. Pro at €59 adds push notifications, location reminders, several cards and card types such as points, cashback, prepaid and membership.
- A trial. Try Pro free for 14 days.
- The QR stand is included. Your first A5 counter stand is delivered with your card; more cost €19 each.
- Founding merchants in Belgium can get Pro at €19 a month for as long as they stay.
Where is Joyn stronger?
- A lower entry price. Lite is €19.95 a month on monthly billing, against €29 for Fidelia Essential.
- A shared network. Joyn states “+2.2M cardholders” and “+3K merchants” (their own figures), so customers may already carry a Joyn card.
- Automatic VAT reporting and unlimited coupons are listed in Connect and Expert; Expert also lists selected integrations and an API, and a free welcome pack.
- Printed cards. If you want plastic or paper cards at the counter, Joyn sells them from €30, and the Joyn Box (€50) holds 333 cards, QR stickers, window stickers, a tablet holder and a flyer.
Who should pick Joyn?
Joyn suits a shop whose customers are already in the Joyn network, that likes a physical card and a counter kit, and that is happy with a one-year contract at the lowest entry price.
Who should pick Fidelia?
Fidelia suits shops that want a card customers already know how to use, because it lives in their phone’s Wallet, plus push messages and reminders when they walk past. It also suits owners who want to stay free to leave, or to start on €29 and move to Pro later. See our pricing for every plan.
How do you switch from Joyn to Fidelia?
- Check your Joyn contract. The initial term is one year and renews unless you cancel at least 30 days before the end with the form at joyn.be/stop; e-mail and post are not accepted.
- Create your Fidelia card with the same reward so regulars recognise it, and start the 14-day Pro trial.
- Run both side by side until the Joyn term ends: put the Fidelia QR stand next to the till and offer a welcome stamp to regulars.
- Keep honouring Joyn points. Joyn’s terms say that after notice you keep honouring points for one month.
- Tell customers about the new card at payment, then end Joyn when its term is over.
