Who is responsible for your data?
The shop that gave you the card. It decided to run a loyalty programme and is the controller of your data under the GDPR. Fidelia (a brand of Metadia Ltd) provides the technology and processes your data only on the shop’s behalf and on its instructions, under a data processing agreement.
For any request about your card, contact the shop first. You can also write to hello@fidelia.se: we pass your request on and help the shop answer it.
What is stored?
- your first name, which staff see when they scan your card,
- your e-mail address, so there is one card per address and the shop can help you recover a lost card,
- your language, the date you joined and whether you ticked the box for the shop’s news,
- your card: a random card number and the wallet you use,
- the history of your card: stamps, points or balance and rewards, with the time, place and staff member of each action.
Never your surname, phone number, date of birth or payment details, and never your location. Shops using Fidelia do not see your other cards, and Fidelia does not use your data for its own marketing.
How do you stop the shop’s news?
- E-mails: click Unsubscribe at the bottom of any e-mail from the shop. One click is enough; your card keeps working.
- Notifications on your lock screen: in Apple Wallet, open the card, tap the “…” button and turn off notifications for it; in Google Wallet, open the card’s details and turn off its notifications. Or ask the shop to remove your consent.
How do you remove the card?
Delete it from Apple Wallet or Google Wallet like any other pass. The shop keeps your stamps, so you can add the same card back later from the shop’s counter. Removing the card does not erase your data: for that, see below.
How do you have your data erased?
Ask the shop. Staff can delete you from their dashboard: your first name and e-mail address are removed immediately and your card is deactivated in your wallet. The anonymous history of stamps stays, so the shop’s statistics remain correct, but it can no longer be linked to you.
You also have the right to access, correct and receive a copy of your data, to object to processing and to withdraw your consent. If you think your data is not handled correctly, you can complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be) or the authority where you live.
Full details: privacy policy.
Is the card free?
Yes. The shop pays Fidelia for the service; you never pay anything for the card and are never asked for payment details. Prepaid or membership cards are paid to the shop, at the counter.
