Use this when a customer asks to be forgotten, for example. Anyone can ask the shop, and the shop decides about its customers’ data. Fidelia provides the tool.
How do I delete a customer?
- Open Customers and select the customer, or search by first name. See find a customer.
- In the panel, scroll to the Danger zone and press Delete customer.
- Read What happens in the dialog.
- Type the customer’s first name in the box to confirm. If it does not match, the dialog says “The name doesn’t match.”
- Press Delete for good. You see “Customer deleted. Their card is no longer active.”
Only owners and managers can do this; staff get the message “Only owners and managers can do this.”
What is removed and what is kept?
The dialog states it plainly:
- Removed for good: the customer’s first name and e-mail.
- Card: the loyalty card stops working. The wallet pass shows that it is no longer active, and the scanner refuses it with “This card was deleted.”
- Kept: stamps and rewards stay in your statistics, without a name, so your numbers remain correct.
The customer also disappears from your Customers list.
How do I delete my shop account?
The dashboard has no button to delete the whole shop account: Settings only shows your sign-in e-mail, your role and Sign out. To close your account, write to hello@fidelia.se from the e-mail address you signed up with. Mention your shop’s name.
If you pay for a plan, cancel it first or tell us in the same message. See change or cancel your plan.
A customer asks me directly
Customers can also read what is stored and how to ask for erasure in the notice for cardholders. They are told to ask the shop, which can then follow the steps above.
